Meet Tony Herbert

Tony is the founder, owner and operator of Connect to Home SDA Consultants.  Tony has over 30 years’ experience working in the people industry. He deliberately refers to his experiences as people experiences instead of working with disabled, vulnerable or disadvantaged people. He believes we all have skills. We all have worth, and we are all good at something or many things. His view is that labels are often just another way of saying that someone is not likely to achieve a good outcome in an area outside their expertise.  Tony’s expertise is providing fair, capable and competent representation for NDIS participants in an area he excels at. Tony’s passion for arranging SDA housing is being that reliable expert who knows how to support your ideas as they move from a vision to the reality of a new SDA home. Producing hard evidence, good results and getting clients into great SDA’s is Tony’s mission.

Experience and skills

Tony studied Psychology at Federation University majoring in Psychology, graduating with an honour’s degree. He also has advanced qualifications in training and disability. His work experiences include being a police detective, mental health worker, disability employment assessor, disability support worker, NDIS Local Area Coordinator, NDIS support coordinator and small disability business owner. He is a self-confessed perfectionist when it comes to working with complex clients, legislation and big, often confusing bureaucracies like the NDIS. For Tony, the real thrill is going into interesting and complex negotiations with the NDIS, knowing each possible aspect has been looked at and that the client is going to come out of it feeling elated and with a new SDA instead of feeling deflated, confused and overwhelmed.
